Overview

Our Professional Standards Department is here to assist you with many difficult issues you may have with one of our members whether it’s member to member disputes, or member of the public to REALTOR® disputes.

We recommend that you utilize the services of an Ombudsman. This is an attempt by one of our brokers or agents to solve your dispute by phone in a timely manner. Please call the Association for current contact information experienced b or you may request the services of the Ombudsman by completing the following: Ombudsman Request and email it to memberservices@cvar.net or fax to 909-305-2833 Attn: Pro Standards.

Sometimes if the complaint is larger in scale and you feel the Code of Ethics has been compromised, you can file a formal Ethics Complaint and attend a hearing to present your case. The hearing panel can then impose a Disciplinary action against the agent.

In order for Citrus Valley to hear a code of ethics complaint, the agent mentioned as the respondent must be a full board member of Citrus Valley Association of REALTORS®.

Sometimes a buyer and seller have a dispute regarding a deposit or a disclosure issue, according to the RPA, that dispute is required to be mediated before going to Arbitration or Court. Citrus Valley has an excellent and low cost Mediation Program available.

Our Arbitration Program is in place when two REALTORS have a dispute regarding a commission. The facts are presented to a panel and the panel makes the final decision issuing a legal binding award if appropriate.
