Tech Blog: Content Strategy Matters

As I travel the country preaching the importance of online positioning through the various social platforms available, I continue to witness the frustration of those who create accounts but fail to move forward with posting.  The classic comment I hear tends to be, "l don't know what to post."  Believe me, I get it...there are so many things to consider when strategically coming up with a game plan for posting, such as: 

"How will I be perceived?" 

"Will this get responses?" 

"How does my hair look?" 

Ok, ok, I was kidding about the last question, but in reality, before tackling such a massive commitment of consistency in your posts, you must create a solid CONTENT STRATEGY in order to be successful.  Consider the questions I pose to you in the video below -

Heightened market competition in the first half of 2013 led to an increase of multiple offers, nearly all home sellers (98 percent) said they received multiple offers, up from 83 percent in 2012. On average, each home sale received 5.9 offers in 2013 compared to 3.1 offers in 2012.

LA Times: Tax reform proposal would cut many real estate deductions

WASHINGTON — You may have seen reports about a major tax reform proposal floated recently by Rep. Dave Camp of Michigan, the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.

But you probably didn't see the grisly list of long-standing home real estate tax benefits that would be eliminated or sharply reduced under Camp's plan.

Here's a quick overview. But first, some basics:

• This is no back-of-the-napkin set of proposals. Camp and his committee — the primary tax-writing panel in Congress — have been working on this for two years. They've held extensive public hearings and done significant research.

Move and NAR File Suit Against Zillow and Samuelson

Complaint details misappropriation of trade secrets and confidential information

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Move, Inc. (NASDAQ: MOVE), an online leader in real estate, today filed a lawsuit against Zillow, Inc. (NASDAQ:Z) and Errol Samuelson in the Superior Court of King County, Washington for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and misappropriation of trade secrets among others actions. The National Association of REALTORS and its subsidiary Realtors Information Network, Inc. joined as plaintiffs in the suit.

"At Move, we take our trade secrets and intellectual property extremely seriously as a valuable asset in our competitive position in the marketplace," said Steve Berkowitz, CEO of Move.  "We take action in cases in which we believe our trade secrets have been compromised. We have raised this matter for the courts and believe that the matter will be resolved judiciously."
